Music Legend Prince Dies at 57


Legendary music icon Prince has passed away on Thursday, April 21st, 2016. He was 57.

The very sad news was confirmed by the musician’s publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure: “It is with profound sadness that I am confirming that the legendary, iconic performer Prince Roger Nelson, has died. There are no further details as to the cause of death as this time.”

Prince’s body was reportedly discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota, early Thursday morning. First responders to the scene performed CPR but were unable to revive him. The music icon was pronounced dead at 10:07 AM.

An autopsy to determine the cause of death will be performed on Friday.

Following the tragic announcement, multiple reports have claimed that the artist struggled with a degrading health in the past months.

The legendary artist is credited as one of music industry’s biggest influencers. He released 39 albums, all self-produced. He won 7 Grammy Awards, and an Oscar for Best Song for “Purple Rain” in 1985.

In 2004, he was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

The news of his passing away came as a great shock to music lovers all over the world. He will be greatly missed.
