Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Recalled After Making Customers Sick

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese is an easy, time-saving and delicious meal that many enjoy. It’s affordable and you don’t have to be a chef to cook it. Sounds like the perfect meal.

Unfortunately, the iconic meal was in hot waters last year after several boxes were recalled after making customers sick due to contamination with metal issues.

Kraft was forced to recall a large number of boxes of mac & cheese after receiving complaints from customers who claimed that the food made them sick.

The brand put out a press release regarding the issues they were having with the Original flavor of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Dinner. According to the press release, “Kraft has received eight consumer contacts about this product from the impacted line within this range of code dates and no injuries have been reported. We deeply regret this situation and apologize to any consumers we have disappointed.”

The contamination reportedly came from dyes Yellow 5 and Yellow 6, which contain benzidene and other potentially carcinogenic chemicals.

All boxes of mac & cheese with expiration dates between September 18, 2015 and October 11, 2015 were recalled and customers who had them were advised to get rid of them and not eat the contents.

Did you know about this controversy? Were you one of the customers who bought such boxes of mac & cheese?
